Great spot to stop and eat when traveling along I-40. We're usually passing through around breakfast time. The food is very good and the service is great as well. It has an old west kind of feel to it. It's always busy but service is still great. I didn't get any pictures this time but we will be going back.
Wagon wheel is always great !! Never had a meal other than breakfast here, but the breakfast is spot on delicious.
If you're passing through Needles, this is the place to stop and eat. The restaurant is very rustic with antics and Route 66 memorabilia. The service average. They were very busy so our drinks weren't refilled as quickly or as often as we'd like. I ordered the cornbeef hash with eggs, hash brown, and biscuits with gravy. The meal was super enjoyable! The gravy for the biscuits was very savory, my main critique was that I wish the biscuits were softer. It seemed that the outside of the biscuits had hardened. I'm sure they were much better when they were freshly made. This really an iconic diner, and it's definitely worth a stop.
We pretty much stop here anytime we drive down 40E. Consistent great service and food, hot and fresh! The ambiance is a bit old school "and I like it!" You won't go away broke or hungry.
We were traveling through Needles CA and ordered take out from Wagon Wheel. I ordered the meatloaf dinner. It included mash potatoes, a veggie side, biscuit and gravy. It was excellent! We also got the Philly cheesesteak with Green beans. Also excellent. Although we only picked up the food., we would love to go back to eat dinner there. Atmosphere was wacky and fun! A great tribute to Route 66!
